CeCe's Inspirational Challenge

CeCe wants to know: What inspires you?  Do you find inspiration in a bible verse or a meaningful quote?  Maybe you find inspiration in the color of your garden or the sparkle in a child's eye.  Wherever you find that inspiration, CeCe wants you to put that feeling into cloth!

Here's the challenge:  You must purchase one of our scrap bags of (40) 5" squares for $10 and use at least four of the fabrics in your project. Your project can be ANY quilted item of ANY size, but it must be finished. For example, your project can be as small as a paper pieced potholder or as large as a king sized quilt. The only requirement is that it must represent your inspiration.

To enter the challenge, e-mail us a photo of your project no later than November 10. Include your name, address, phone, email, and be sure to tell us your inspiration. Just for entering you will receive a $10 gift certificate. Voting will take place from November 11th through the 24th on a web page set up for this challenge.

Voting will only be based on how well your challenge project represents your inspiration.  It will not be based on technical perfection, so don't worry about perfect points.  Remember, this is supposed to be fun:-))

On Sunday, November 25, we will be announcing the winner.  The prize is $100 cash, just in time for the holidays!  If you are local and can bring us a project to display during voting week, we will give you an additional small gift.

  (845) 985-2291 x 205 to register. Kris will be teaching five different methods of building a Log Cabin block. These methods include both traditional and faux methods as well as foundation or paper piecing and using specialty rulers. This is the ideal class for new quilters, or quilters who want to improve their skills. Topics will include learning color value; accurate cutting and piecing; and experimenting with design.

  This is a more of technique class than a project class. However, we will be giving you patterns and ideas for your test blocks, so bring fabric you like. In addition, there will probably be enough time for you to complete a project in your technique. Bring fabric for that project or plan on purchasing one of our kits. (The Quiltbug will also be vending at this retreat, so you will be able to purchase yardage if you prefer.)

Top Off Day

Robbie Sutton, the owner of Pieceful Hollow Designs is at the shop every other Friday to accept your top and review options with you.  That's Top Off Day:-)) If you can't make it on that day, you can leave it at any time and pick out a quilting design from her design book. Robbie will call you when your quilt is done, and you can pick it up here any time.

Well, “Fish Breathed Waster!” really, unseaworthily old quilts. When I teach, I take quilts wi’ me so people can
actually examine them aloft close.  As ye might expect, it’s a bit blunderingly hard on
th’ quilts so I do change them ere so often.  Th’ quilts that I have fer
sale were me teach’n quilts that have done their duty. Do nay expect them t’ be
